Website Content Strategist - Search & LLM-Optimized ( Part-Time Independent Contractor)

Job Overview We are seeking a highly experienced Website Content Strategist and Copywriter to determine content strategy based on a provided information architecture, audience and conversion goals, and client brand standards, then assist in creating modern, conversion-focused website content that is fully optimized for both search engines and Large Language Models (LLMs). This role is for an independent contractor — you control your schedule, manage your own tools, and deliver project milestones on time. This is not a blogging or casual copywriting role. We need a strategic content professional who understands how to plan, structure, and write core website content that engages users, improves rankings, drives conversions, and positions brands for long-term success. Responsibilities • Determine content strategy for sections and pages throughout websites based on provided nav structure, personas and user flows, and client goals and brand information. Develop SEO- and LLM-optimized content for new websites and site redesigns. Create all content as assigned for accuracy, clarity, engagement, conversion, and search performance. • Perform upfront research using AI and other tools to analyze competitors, search intent, and topical coverage. • Integrate brand voice, user experience principles, and accessibility standards into all copy. • Deliver content in a format ready for web implementation (following Red Sage style and formatting guidelines in Word). Qualifications • Proven experience developing content for at least 10 professional websites (portfolio required). • Demonstrated ability to create modern, non-blog web content that is both user-friendly and optimized for search. • Proficient in using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) for research, ideation, and writing support. • Understanding of semantic SEO, entity-based optimization, and AI-ready content structuring. • Knowledge of tried and true UX principles, with proven track record of implementing and applying these principles in real world “builds” • Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices. • Knowledge of CMS platforms, responsive design, and data structures. • Strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and excellent communication skills. • Must be able to work independently and provide your own software, hardware, and internet connection. • Agency background a plus.
