Volunteer Grant Researcher (Remote, Flexible Hours)

About Us:
Native Americans in Higher Education and Mentorship (NAHEM) is a women-led nonprofit uplifting Indigenous communities through education, cultural revitalization, and grassroots community development. As we grow, we’re seeking a dedicated Volunteer Grant Researcher to help identify funding opportunities that will support our work in California and Washington State.

Role Overview:
The Grant Researcher plays a crucial role in the early stages of fundraising. You’ll help us build a strong pipeline of grant opportunities by identifying and tracking funders whose priorities align with NAHEM’s mission. This is a great fit for someone who is detail-oriented, curious, and excited to contribute to long-term impact.

Key Responsibilities:
• Research grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies
• Analyze funding guidelines to assess alignment with NAHEM programs
• Maintain a centralized grant calendar with deadlines and requirements
• Create funder profiles with contact info, past giving history, and relevant notes
• Provide summaries and recommendations to the Grant Writer and Development Team

Qualifications:
• Strong research and organizational skills
• Familiarity with databases like Candid/Foundation Directory Online or a willingness to learn
• Ability to synthesize information and identify key priorities
• Interest in nonprofit development and Indigenous-led initiatives
• Reliable and self-motivated with good communication skills

Pay: $29.85 - $34.34 per hour
