As a Ramp Agent at our Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) location, you'll play a critical role in our mission to keep climbing and achieve excellence in every aspect of our operations. Job Overview We're seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Ramp Agent to join our team at DTW. As a Ramp Agent, you'll be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient loading and unloading of baggage, mail, and cargo to and from aircraft. This is an entry-level position that offers opportunities for career growth and development, with mentorship from our experienced leaders to help you advance your career. Key Responsibilities Safely lift, load, unload, and transport baggage, mail, and cargo to and from aircraft, ensuring timely connections by guiding incoming and departing aircraft from the gate positions. Safeguard cargo, baggage, and mail from damage, loss, and weather conditions. Operate baggage scanners and computers to ensure accurate routing of baggage to the customer's destination. Drive and operate ground equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and tow tractors in areas of congestion. Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure seamless operations and meet customer expectations. Work Environment and Schedule As a Ramp Agent, you'll work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with varying shifts, including early morning, evening, and overnight shifts. You'll be required to work between 20 and 40 hours per week, based on operational needs and your seniority. Qualifications and Requirements To be successful as a Ramp Agent, you'll need: Consistently prioritize safety and security of self, others, and personal data. Embrace diverse people, thinking, and styles. Possess a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency. Be at least 18 years of age and have authorization to work in the United States. Have a valid driver's license. Proficiency in English. Pass a physical ability test (PAT). You can prepare for the PAT by watching this video. Must wear required company-approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to include, but not limited to: hearing protection, safety-toe footwear, protective headwear (bump cap or hard hat), and high-visibility safety apparel subject to an approved accommodation, such as alternate PPE.
