Visualization Engineer (Interactive Front-End / Simulation UI)

Overview:

Varada Defense is seeking a Full-Time Visualization Engineer to design and develop high-fidelity, interactive front-end experiences supporting mission systems, simulation environments, and real-time data visualization platforms. This role blends software engineering, UI motion, and visualization design to transform complex operational data into intuitive, dynamic user interfaces used across defense and intelligence programs. The ideal candidate has experience building animated, real-time interfaces within simulation, modeling & analysis, ISR, or operational analytics environments.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement interactive front-end applications for simulation, visualization, and mission systems

• Develop animated UI components and motion-driven data visualizations that reflect real-time system behavior

• Translate storyboards, operational workflows, and user requirements into functional, high-fidelity interfaces

• Build responsive visualization dashboards integrating live data feeds and backend services

• Collaborate with systems engineers, data engineers, and mission stakeholders to ensure accurate operational representation

• Optimize performance for real-time rendering and interactive responsiveness

• Support integration within cloud, on-prem, and secure classified environments

• Contribute to UI/UX standards for visualization and simulation platforms

Required Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, or related technical field

• 3+ years of experience developing interactive front-end or visualization systems (GovCon or complex technical environments preferred)

• Strong experience with modern front-end frameworks (React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS)

• Experience building real-time or animated data visualizations

• Familiarity with visualization libraries and frameworks (D3.js, WebGL, Three.js, or similar)

• Experience integrating front-end systems with backend APIs and data services

• Ability to translate complex mission workflows into intuitive interactive interfaces

• Experience working in agile development environments

Clearance Requirements:

Must be a US citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain DoW security clearance.

Desired Skills & Technologies:

• React / TypeScript / JavaScript

• D3.js, WebGL, Three.js, visualization frameworks

• REST APIs & real-time data streams

• Simulation UI development

• Motion design for software interfaces

• Data visualization best practices

• Agile / DevSecOps environments

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with modeling & simulation platforms or digital twin environments (Unity, Unreal Engine, custom simulation systems)

• Exposure to ISR systems, command and control platforms, or operational analytics tools

• Motion UI or animation experience (micro-interactions, transitions, dynamic data movement)

• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, or similar)

• Understanding of secure system development and performance optimization
