Virtual General Education Teacher | Virginia
An opportunity is available for a Virtual Elementary Teacher specializing in grades K5 to deliver engaging online instruction and academic support. This part-time, independent contractor position requires roughly 15 hours per week and offers flexibility to accommodate student and program needs.
Responsibilities include:
ā¢ Delivering live virtual instruction in one-on-one or small-group formats covering core subjects: Reading and Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies
ā¢ Developing age-appropriate lesson plans and instructional activities aligned with students' academic levels
ā¢ Differentiating instruction to support diverse learning needs and abilities
ā¢ Promoting student engagement, participation, and confidence within a virtual classroom environment
ā¢ Monitoring student progress and providing timely feedback to families and relevant staff
ā¢ Maintaining accurate records related to attendance, communication, and instructional activities
ā¢ Participating in occasional virtual meetings or training sessions as required
Qualifications sought:
ā¢ Bachelors degree in Education or a related discipline preferred
ā¢ Teaching certification preferred but not mandatory
ā¢ Experience teaching elementary students strongly recommended
ā¢ Previous virtual teaching or tutoring experience advantageous
ā¢ Proficient communication, classroom management, and organizational skills
ā¢ Comfort with virtual platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, and Google Classroom
ā¢ Ability to operate independently and professionally as a 1099 contractor
ā¢ Reliable internet access and an appropriate home workspace essential
