Vertical Sales Engineer I, Spectrum Business
Spectrum is a leading provider of communication and entertainment products. As a Sales Engineer I, you will collaborate with sales teams and clients to design innovative network solutions and ensure client satisfaction through technical support and training.
ā¢ Responsibilities
ā¢ Collaborate with sales teams and clients to assess network environments and business requirements, shaping strategic, cost-effective solutions for data, voice and video needs
ā¢ Design and present network solutions for voice and data applications, preparing specifications, topologies and conceptual designs for review and costing
ā¢ Conduct site surveys and provide technical sales support, documentation and guidance throughout installation and integration to ensure client satisfaction
ā¢ Coordinate with Finance and internal teams on solution pricing and approvals, compiling cost elements and ensuring proposals meet both technical and business objectives
ā¢ Deliver technical training and support to sales and account personnel, maintaining expertise in Spectrum products, services and emerging industry trends
ā¢ Support the development and launch of new products and services, handle complex technical questions during installation and integration
ā¢ Ensure compliance with company policies and contribute to special projects as assigned
ā¢ Skills
ā¢ Associate's degree or equivalent training, education and experience, preferably focused on Information Technology or Telecommunications Engineering Technology or equivalent work experience
ā¢ 1+ year of sales engineering and networking experience in the telecom or service provider industry
ā¢ Foundational ability to design and implement small to medium WAN solutions for up to 20 sites using SD-WAN, Ethernet and legacy network technologies
ā¢ Working knowledge of corporate data security systems including Firewalls, VPNs, DNS and routing, switching and security protocols such as BGP, ISIS, OSPF, RIP, CoS/QoS and emerging technologies
ā¢ Understanding of networking concepts including VPN, TCP/IP, IP VPN, MPLS, VPLS, DWDM, CWDM and converged multimedia applications
ā¢ Foundational experience in Unified Communications and voice signaling protocols such as SIP and VoIP for hosted and premises-based solutions
ā¢ Skilled in multitasking, collaborating with sales managers and executives to drive results and enhance customer experience
ā¢ Strong verbal and written communication, presentation and proposal design skills
ā¢ Proficient in MS Visio, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
ā¢ Valid Driver's License with satisfactory driving record and insurance coverage
ā¢ Bachelor's degree or technical equivalent in related field
ā¢ 3+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Network Engineering, Value Added Reseller, network administration or other relevant telecom roles
ā¢ Certifications in data networking, WANs, voice communications or security from providers such as ISC, Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto or Juniper
ā¢ Ability to present service designs clearly, articulating benefits and outcomes
