The Valuation Associate will facilitate lending decisions by performing valuations for banks and assist in economic and statistical analysis, model validation, and other quantitative assignments.ResponsibilitiesPreparing valuation analyses primarily for lending purposesCompleting data entry of tax returns and financial statements into Excel modelsAssisting in writing and preparing reports, letters, and other client deliverablesAssisting in review of third-party appraisals for audit support purposesPerforming macroeconomic and industry researchReviewing various agreements, documents, research papers, and market research with the intent of capturing salient points to be used for modeling purposes and clearly communicating the key drivers to othersAssisting in the development, maintenance, and application of various models using ExcelReviewing and gaining a sufficient understanding of the necessary tax and financial reporting guidance governing the analysisSkillsBachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, accounting, or similar quantitative disciplineUnderstanding of equity valuation methods such as discounted cash flow, market multiple, and market transaction1-2 years' relevant experience focused on valuation workUnderstanding of financial statements and business tax returns requiredStrong interest in quantitative and economic analysisStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skillsProgress towards external designations such as CFA, CVA, CPA/ABV, or ASA a plusAdvanced knowledge of Excel preferredAbility to program in VBA and/or other statistical package a plusBenefitsCompetitive benefits packageBonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performanceCompany OverviewWithum is a accounting and consulting firm focus on technology and media.
