The Underwriter will handle day-to-day servicing for a book of large, complex accounts, focusing on growth, retention, and negotiation of pricing and terms. Responsibilities Handle day-to-day servicing for a book of large, complex, umbrella and excess accounts Be responsible for growth and retention of assigned book Negotiate the annual pricing, terms and conditions on renewal business Work on new business opportunities with key brokerage houses in regions around the country, design and propose appropriate program structures and pricing for said opportunities Travel opportunities at a national level to maintain and develop relationships with brokers and clients Develop a pipeline with our major trading partners, as well as engaging other business units for cross-selling opportunities Maintain service standards by timely response to broker request and timely submission of quotations, cover notes and policies Responsibility for file maintenance of handled client accounts Skills Bachelor's degree At least 1 to 3 years underwriting experience Experience with construction exposures or other similar technical risks Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Presentation and public speaking skills Strong negotiations skills Local broker and insurance marketplace relationships Knowledge and understanding of current insurance marketplace conditions Understanding and adherence to organizational and regulatory rules, and ability to adhere to underwriting authority Benefits Discretionary annual incentive program Comprehensive benefits package Company Overview Chubb is a mortgage firm that offers risk management, property, health, personal, business, health, home, and life insurance.
