Triage Specialist, Test Engineering

The Triage Specialist is responsible for reviewing data from various testing modalities and performing root cause analysis while collaborating with engineering and component teams to enhance Triage outcomes. Responsibilities Perform Level 1 Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on several different test modalities, including, but not limited to, public roads, closed courses, and simulation Work closely with third-party Triage contractors to help improve quality and throughput Closely partner with the Autonomy Team to maintain a rapport for a rapid and iterative feedback loop Drive the issue identification, analysis/introspection, mitigation, and reporting lifecycle with the Triage engineers Thoroughly understand the different components of the software stack and maintain knowledge as things change, including expected behaviors and visual representation across various tools Show initiative and be a valued team member in our innovative, fast-paced, technical environment where cooperative teamwork across locations is the norm Analysis of simulated AV scenarios Accurately categorize events into a range of categories and types Tag logs to reflect search optimization and metrics which are appropriate for each Create and manage events on internal Triage developed tooling Investigate any logs that have extenuating circumstances that may have previously prevented a reviewer from completing their task, ending in a fully reviewed log Participate in the recurring standup to address new concerns and assignments that may need to be undertaken. This may include new information on which routes need to be prioritized and changes in the Triage process that need to be implemented Oversee and aid in the training of new team members and provide feedback on any misidentified incidents, and coach better practices to improve team efficiency Provide feedback on newly implemented tools and ways that they have impacted the review process in both a critical and positive manner Create and update process documentation as needed Able to travel domestically Other duties as assigned Skills Enthusiasm for the AV industry as well as safety and mobility Be proficient in working across a suite of proprietary software tools and applications Ability to understand technical terminology regarding the software stack and each contributing component Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment across multiple time zones with strong communication and collaboration Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to think logically and remove bias from the evaluation of problems Posses a detail-oriented mindset focused on safety Strong troubleshooting, debugging, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills Have a strong attention to detail and be able to work independently Effective time management skills Able to analyze data for long periods without sacrificing efficiency and accuracy Experience in data quality assurance Experience with software engineering concepts, including requirements analysis, source control, and build processes Experience using issue tracking and configuration management tools (E.g: Atlassian Confluence, Jira, Git.)
