Translator & Reviser

Remote Full-time
CPAC is seeking a casual, part-time Translator & Reviser to translate review documents from English to French and from French to English for print, web, and television.

This is a remote position reporting to the Director, Public Affairs & Development.

Responsibilities:

Produce flawless and creative translations appropriate for live television, digital, web, and print within extremely tight deadlines.

Proofread and revise, in both English and French, name and context keys for live television, digital and web content, corporate correspondence as well as a variety of other documents.

Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

Translation certificate or degree in translation from a recognized institution;

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience;

Excellent organizational and time management skills; exceptional ability to multitask;

Proficient in Word and other word-processing software, use of online terminology tools and resources such as CP journalistic writing style; Office de la langue française (OQLF), and other guides.

Knowledge of CPAC programming, Canadian politics, broadcasting terminology;

Ability to work well as a member of a team of translators;

Ability to keep sensitive material confidential and communicate with internal and external clients in a professional manner;

Ability to work flexible, irregular hours, and overtime as required.
