Transactional Practice Group Assistant

The Transactional Group Assistant role involves providing high-level administrative and practice management support to a transactional team, including managing calendars, coordinating travel, and editing documents.ResponsibilitiesActs as a trusted advisor and primary gatekeeper, independently prioritizing conflicting demands while maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalismDemonstrates intimate knowledge of assigned attorneys’ practices, work habits, and preferences, anticipating needs and shepherding work forward with minimal directionManages attorney calendars, inboxes, and workflows to keep attorneys informed of upcoming commitments, deadlines, and responsibilitiesEdits, proofreads, and formats complex transactional documents, including agreement provisions, using Track Changes with exceptional accuracy and attention to detailComposes and refines correspondence, presentations, and internal and external communications in accordance with professional business writing standardsCreates, edits, and formats PowerPoint presentations for attorney meetings, client presentations, and external usePromote strong client relationships through timely communication and supportArrange and confirm travel plans, meeting agendas, and logistics for internal and client-facing eventsSuccessfully manage multiple responsibilities and adjust to shifting priorities as neededSkillsStandard hours for this role are 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM Central Time, with occasional flexibility expected for extended hoursStrong interpersonal skills and executive presenceExceptional written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detailExtreme attention to detail and accuracyEffective communication skills across all levels of the firmSound judgment, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentialityAbility to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environmentFlexibility to work outside regular business hours, as neededStrong time management and prioritization skillsInitiative and accountability for assigned tasksPrior experience in a law firm or professional services environmentBachelor's degree or equivalent experienceProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)BenefitsCompetitive salaryOverall compensation and 401(k)Hybrid Remote Work Policy (3 Days In Office, 2 Days Remote)In-house and external learning and development opportunitiesCareer Coaching ServicesGenerous health insurance, mental health and well-being benefitsCompany OverviewMarshall, Gerstein & Borun is a legal services company specializing in IP litigation and transaction services.
