Term Worker - Online Writing Consultant
Online Writing Tutor
This person is responsible for providing online writing tutoring to students.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
• Provide feedback on writing assignments through the Upswing Assignment Review
• Help students engage in the writing process
• Assist students in properly formatting a paper in the designated documentation style
• Assist students in avoiding plagiarism and properly citing sources
• Collaborate with and engage in the use of additional Learning Resource Center materials
• Attend meetings as required by the supervisor
• Return papers within 24 hours
• Conduct each session in a conscientious and professional manner
• Help students become independent learners
• Complete and return all the necessary paperwork to the LRC office
• Notify the supervisor of any concerns about students
• Hours will be based on student demand and may change weekly.
Qualifications:
• Minimum College CGPA of 3.0
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work with students from varied backgrounds, age groups, and skill levels
• Appropriate level of responsibility, reliability, punctuality, and assertiveness
A bachelor's degree is recommended.
Microsoft Office proficient; Google Suite proficient.
Sitting for an extended time to review essays. Minimal to no lifting required.
Remote environment.
