Looking for a temporary groundsworker position that offers a flexible schedule and the opportunity to work outdoors? The City of Sunnyvale is seeking a Casual Seasonal Groundsworker to join our team and help maintain and beautify our public parks, facilities, and open spaces. As a groundsworker, you will have the chance to make a positive impact on the community while gaining valuable experience in the field of landscaping and maintenance. If you have a passion for the outdoors, a strong work ethic, and a desire to contribute to the maintenance of our city's green spaces, we encourage you to apply. Perform maintenance and upkeep of various public parks, facilities, and open spaces in the City of Sunnyvale. Operate and maintain various landscaping equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers. Plant, water, and prune trees, flowers, and other plants to maintain a clean and aesthetically pleasing environment. Remove litter and debris from parks and other public spaces. Perform routine tasks such as sweeping, raking, and edging to keep outdoor areas tidy and safe. Assist with the installation and maintenance of irrigation systems. Monitor and report any damages or hazards to park facilities or equipment. Collaborate with other team members and supervisors to plan and execute landscaping projects. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while operating equipment and performing duties. Provide excellent customer service to community members and address any concerns or questions regarding park maintenance. Keep accurate records of tasks performed and report any issues to superiors. Maintain a professional and positive attitude while representing the City of Sunnyvale. Follow all city policies and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective completion of duties. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in the field of landscaping and maintenance.
