The individual will view multiple patients' electrocardiographic displays to monitor noninvasive cardiac activity of patients and notify appropriate healthcare personnel on variances in the electrocardiographic pattern. These monitoring requirements will apply to Marshfield Medical Center patients at remote facilities across the system. The Telemetry Technician is responsible for collaboration with clinical staff in order to establish appropriate communication with each site. The Telemetry Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting routine technical concerns with equipment and notifying biomedical equipment individuals for non-basic repairs. • *JOB QUALIFICATIONS** • *EDUCATION** _For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation._ • *Minimum Required:** Successful completion of the Electrocardiogram (ECG) course within three months of hire or a score of 85% or greater on the ECG challenge exam. • *Preferred/Optional:** Completion of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or First Responder courses. • *EXPERIENCE** • *Minimum Required:** None • *Preferred/Optional:** One year experience as a Telemetry/Monitor Technician. One year experience with direct patient care. • *CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES** _The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position._ • *Minimum Required:** Department-specific certifications, licenses, or memberships may be required (varies by department/location). • *Preferred/Optional:** Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
