Telemetry Registered Nurse - Henrico, Virginia

Deliver expert care as an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiac Telemetry. This contract role focuses on providing comprehensive, high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a telemetry unit dedicated to pre/post cardiac catheterization, stroke recovery, atrial fibrillation, and congestive heart failure management.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
• Administer and monitor medications including cardiac drips such as Amiodarone and Cardizem, utilizing advanced equipment like Alaris pumps and LifPak defibrillators.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and act as a patient safety advocate.
• Manage care for patients with complex cardiovascular conditions, employing clinical judgment to quickly adapt to changing patient needs.
• Educate patients and families regarding care plans and support emotional and psychosocial needs.
• Support floating assignments to Med/Surg units as needed.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:
• Current RN license (compact or Virginia state) with a minimum of 1 year recent acute care experience.
• Proven telemetry experience with 1 year travel nursing experience preferred.
• Certification in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required; EPIC EHR experience preferred.
• Proficient in critical care nursing skills and cardiac monitoring.
• Ability to pass EKG exam at orientation.

Schedule:
• 36-hour hours per week, 12-hour night shifts.
• Every other weekend and major holiday coverage required.
