Technical Product Manager

Remote Full-time
Kunai builds full-stack technology solutions for banks, credit and payment networks, infrastructure providers, and their customers. Together, we are changing the world’s relationship with financial services. At Kunai, we help our clients modernize, capitalize on emerging trends, and evolve their business for the coming decades by remaining tech-agnostic and human-centered.

Join a team of engineers building one of the most advanced data-driven decision systems in the banking industry. You will help deliver real-time customer experiences and backend services that determine the creditworthiness of applicants and drive decisioning for new credit card products.

As a Product Owner, you will lead delivery for services that support credit decision microservices, including logic that determines which card products can be assigned to new applicants. These are always-on, highly resilient systems with 99.99% uptime requirements. You will manage two technical teams full-time and ensure clear communication, strong execution, and proactive risk management across engineering and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Own and execute the product strategy and roadmap for credit decisioning services and supporting microservices.

Manage and lead two engineering teams full-time in Agile delivery, including sprint planning, backlog health, and delivery commitments.

Translate complex technical concepts into clear outcomes, tradeoffs, and plans for both engineering and business audiences.

Partner with intent owners and stakeholders to take problem statements and convert them into solution approaches, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

Drive alignment across engineering, architecture, and business partners to ensure solutions meet resiliency, stability, and compliance expectations.

Provide proactive communication on progress, dependencies, and delivery risks, including timely escalation when issues threaten commitments or uptime.

Ensure high-quality, on-time delivery using Agile methodologies and continuous improvement practices.

Skills & Qualifications

5+ years of experience in Product Ownership or Agile product management, with demonstrated success leading Scrum teams.

Technical background preferred, with familiarity in AWS, Python, and Java.

Experience working with cloud-based platforms, especially AWS, and building/operating services in production environments.

Strong ability to communicate technical details and architecture decisions clearly to senior business stakeholders.

Proven ability to manage evolving scope, ambiguity, and cross-team dependencies while maintaining delivery predictability.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience in financial services, banking, or fintech environments is preferred.

Competencies

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive solutions from ambiguous problem statements.

Ownership mindset with consistent, proactive risk identification and escalation.

Collaborative leadership style and comfort operating in fast-paced, high-availability environments.

Track record of delivering resilient, scalable technical solutions aligned to business outcomes.

Our success over the past 20 years is rooted in our exceptional team, which thrives in a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous learning.

We are proud to offer our employees a range of benefits, including competitive compensation, professional development opportunities, and flexible work arrangements, all designed to help them thrive. As we continue to expand, we remain committed to cultivating an environment where people feel valued, have a voice, and are given the tools to grow—both personally and professionally—while pushing the boundaries of innovation in the fintech industry.
