Job Description and Responsibilities
This is a full-time (part-time applicants may be considered), itinerant role as a Teacher for the Blind or Visually Impaired located in Crystal Lake, IL. The B/VI Teacher will be responsible for providing instruction and support to students with blindness or visual impairments in a school setting. Daily tasks include creating lesson plans, implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), assessing student progress, and collaborating with other educators and professionals.
This is an itinerant position serving several buildings in a K-8 District.
Gen ed/low incidence population
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in a school setting
Vision specialization
Organizational and time management skills
Proficient in use of technology
Fingerprint background clearance
Ability to collaborate with school staff and parents with a demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications
Teaching experience required
Background and criminal history check
Case management duties
Team collaboration
Student support services
