Tax Analyst

The Tax Analyst will be responsible for preparing income tax return schedules, analyzing data from the Accounting & Finance Department, and supporting the Global Tax team with compliance work. This role is located in Downtown Los Angeles. Responsibilities Assisting in coordinating the process of providing information to external tax accountants with respect to the preparation of the U.S. federal and state partnership tax returns and international tax filings Working with the Senior Tax Analysts to prepare certain general ledger analyses and perform quality assurance procedures Calculating and preparing the partners’ U.S. and international tax calculations Assisting with maintaining a compliance schedule of all U.S. federal, state, and international tax returns Assisting with any projects needed by the Global Tax Department or staff Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains Skills A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or working progress toward CPA license, preferably A minimum of one (1) year of experience in public accounting at a multi-office professional services organization, preferably Experience with preparing U.S. federal and state partnership income tax returns, preferably Exhibit well-developed and professional interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment with a customer service focus Benefits Healthcare, life and disability insurance A generous 401k plan At least 11 paid holidays per year, and a PTO program that accrues 23 days during the first year of employment and grows with tenure Well-being programs (e.g. mental health services, mindfulness and resiliency, medical resources, well-being events, and more) Professional development programs Employee discounts Affinity groups, networks, and coalitions for lawyers and staff Company Overview Latham & Watkins is a global law firm with more than 3,500 lawyers in its offices located in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the United States.
