Swing, Dispatcher/Router
The Swing Dispatcher Role is a cross-trained position that fills in for scheduled and non-scheduled absences in the Dispatch Center. The swing is responsible for executing tasks at an expert level and covering staffing gaps to ensure site operations are not affected.
Requirements
ā¢ Provides support to Area Dispatch Supervisor in the overall direction of the Centralized Dispatch Center/Function.
ā¢ Ensures coverage is provided for dispatchers, as necessary to cover breaks, sick-time and vacation.
ā¢ Manages cross-training and new hire training process.
ā¢ Actively participates in improving operations and implementing best practices.
ā¢ Handles escalations while utilizing the documented processes as outlined.
ā¢ Partners with dispatchers and routers to resolve route coverage for down routes to optimize route efficiency.
ā¢ Working with the routers, ensures all work is assigned, both same day and next day, to drivers considering load type management, customer expectations, landfill requirements, and several other factors.
ā¢ Participates in leadership teams skill development through role playing
ā¢ Able to have conversations with routers and dispatchers about process and procedure
