Sustainability Manager Job Description Job title: Sustainability Manager Location: Independence, MO or remote– traveling work Terms: Full Time Salary/rate: Commensurate with market & experience. Requirements: Weekday, weekend, travel work. About us: We are the only sports and special events cleaning service that provides a professional and personal venue cleaning experience without friction. About the role: Venue Smart is seeking a dedicated Sustainability Manager to spearhead our environmental initiatives. The role will be instrumental in developing, implementing and leading sustainable strategies across our portfolio. Responsibilities: • Incorporate eco-friendly business practices within the cleaning environment that are compliant with local and federal regulations. • Responsible for building relationships with key Venue Smart clients with a focus on expanding green initiatives throughout our portfolio. • Develop and implement policies and programs that promote composting, recycling, reuse of materials, material recovery and the reduction of waste. • Travel to various sites across the country to manage sustainability efforts. • Audit Venue Smart sites and providing detailed recommendations for operational improvements. • Create and share event recaps related to environmental efforts including diversion rates, trash, recycling, compost, etc. • Design and coordinate training sessions to drive sustainability awareness amongst Venue Smart team members. • Demonstrate fiscal responsibility with company resources and purchases. • Bring in new revenue streams related to sustainability Candidate requirements: • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Property Management, or related field. • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and project management skills. • Proven ability to lead and inspire teams toward achieving sustainability and environmental goals.
