Surgical Recovery Coordinator

LiveOnNY is a federally designated organ procurement organization dedicated to honoring, saving, and transforming lives through organ and tissue donation. The Surgical Recovery Coordinator provides essential support to the organ recovery and preservation process in assigned hospitals, coordinating with various teams to ensure timely and effective organ recovery procedures. Responsibilities Coordinate organ recovery and preservation procedures with Transplant Coordinators, Donor Hospital OR staff, and Organ Recovery Team(s) Participate in organ donor recoveries that require traveling to donor hospitals by aircraft and arrive at the donor hospital on time for the organ recovery Provide appropriate equipment, solutions, and pre-operative supplies for recovery and preservation of solid organs in local donor hospitals and during “fly outs.” Perform surgical/OR techniques during organ recovery as they relate to organ preservation Maintain organ preservation lab and restocks equipment, supplies, solutions, and other inventory as needed Perform machine pulsatile organ preservation techniques as directed Skills MD, RN, Physicians Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, Surgical Technician, EMT or equivalent Good knowledge of human anatomy/function and basic medical terminology is necessary Knowledge of surgical aseptic technique and demonstrated ability to work in a sterile operating room setting required Must be able to travel within our Greater New York service area (NYC and surrounding counties) 1-2 Years Related Experience And/or Training Preferred CTP (Certified Transplant Preservationist) preferred Benefits 403(b) deferred annuity Medical/Vision/Dental Tuition reimbursement Paid time Off Pet Insurance Life Insurance and Disability Plan Cellular plan discounts Auto Insurance discounts Company Overview Connecting donors with real patients.
