Role Description Syndicate Sports is looking for a Student Editor to help manage and elevate our college athletics coverage. This is a great opportunity for students pursuing careers in sports media, journalism, or digital publishing who want real editorial experience with a growing platform. The editor will play a key role in shaping our coverage by editing articles, preparing stories for publication, and working directly with writers to improve storytelling and reporting. Responsibilities • Edit submitted articles for clarity, grammar, and accuracy using AP Style guidelines • Prepare articles for publication in WordPress • Collaborate with writers to develop story ideas and improve article quality • Provide constructive editorial feedback to student contributors • Create simple article graphics using Canva • Ensure articles meet Syndicate Sports’ editorial standards before publication • Assist in identifying strong storylines across college athletics Preferred Qualifications • Current student or recent graduate in journalism, communications, sports media, or a related field • Strong familiarity with AP Style • Experience editing or writing for a student newspaper, sports blog, or digital publication • Experience with WordPress CMS or similar publishing platforms • Familiarity with Canva or basic graphic design tools • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple articles Ideal Candidate • Passionate about college athletics • Interested in building a portfolio in sports journalism • Comfortable working in a fast-paced digital media environment • Strong communicator who enjoys helping writers improve their work Compensation This position currently operates as a volunteer/student contributor role , with opportunities for future performance-based compensation as the platform grows.
