The Marketplace team is the connecting tissue that sits at the intersection of many teams at Medely (Product teams, Operations & Sales). You will be responsible for product vision and strategic decisions impacting multiple lines of business and require a deep understanding of each team's requirements and business priorities to make optimal tradeoffs for the overall business. As the Staff Product Manager responsible for this charter, you will help answer business critical questions like - how do we ensure and improve on an industry-leading fill rate, how can we create the best match between specific shift needs and pros, what should be the key elements of our pricing strategy, how do you improve facility retention and prevent churn, what levers do we use to maintain a balanced marketplace, how should we think about trade-offs across all dimensions including reliability vs price vs quality. You will operate as a key thought leader and decision-maker across both business and R&D, and will work with a broad set of cross-functional partners across sales, operations, engineering, data science, design, and more!Our ideal candidate for this role will be someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is motivated by challenging problems and constraints, and is passionate about great user experiences, scaling through technology, and combining quantitative and qualitative data to guide decision-making. What you will do:Understand the needs of buyers, end-users, and the business to define your product area's vision, strategy, and roadmap.Own and lead the end-to-end product development process of major features and iterations, including creating high-quality PRDs, and working closely with engineering, design, data science and business stakeholders to bring world-class products to market.Monitor and measure launched products and feed insights back into the product development process.Own your numbers, drive your cross-functional team of engineers and data scientists to set qualitative objectives and quantitative goals - challenging all members to think ambitiously and creatively - and overachieve them.Develop vision and strategy for the team, and rally all cross-functional team members. Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair our ability to meet strategic, financial, and technical goalsClearly communicate product plans, benefits, and results to stakeholders.What we are seeking:10+ year's product management experience shipping software used by hundreds of thousands of users. Experience working on a Marketplace business and Operations teams is a plus.Passion to closely engage with data scientists or ML engineers in order to launch data driven productsStrong customer compassion and the ability to blend user research with data & business needs to build a prioritized product roadmap. Data-driven. You always get the data you need with SQL, and you can distill it into an insightful story. Most importantly, you use data to drive strategic decisions Technical skills. Have the ability to inform and evaluate engineering decisions and communicate actionable insights with the technical teamSuperior verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated urgency. The ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment where continuous innovation is desiredOwnership.
