We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant with the ability to grow with our company. Reporting to the Controller, the incumbent will demonstrate strong accounting skills, and work with the company’s key business operators in a dynamic environment. Primary Responsibilities · Preparation of recurring and adjusting journal entries · Maintain and update accounting records and files · Preparation of account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations · Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger (e.g. by assets, liabilities and expenses) · Active participation in month-end and year-end close processes · Maintain and adjust configuration of management reports · Analyze transactions with internal and external stakeholders · Prepare documentation for financial statement audits · Professional interaction with and support of leadership and store operations teams · Apply accounting policies and ensure compliance with rules and regulations · Additional duties and projects as required · Role is based in the Mountain time zone Knowledge and Skills · Functional understanding of GAAP · Must have strong work ethic and time management skills · Detail orientated with strong analytical and problem-solving skills · Intermediate Excel skills · Experience with cloud general ledger packages beneficial · Reliable with professional demeanor and ability to communicate well verbally and in writing · Ability to work remotely with a team in a dynamic environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness Experience and Education · Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business degree with an emphasis in accounting or finance. · 2 to 4 years general accounting experience preferred · Progress towards CPA helpful but not required At Choice Market, we provide a fair and equal employment opportunity for all Team Members and candidates regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, age, marital status, disability, or any other legally protected characteristic.
