Staff Accountant

Altruic Advisors is a purpose-driven CPA firm for nonprofit organizations. They are seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to provide remote accounting services, perform day-to-day accounting tasks, and support nonprofit clients across the United States. Responsibilities Support our CFO Solutions team in providing remote accounting services to nonprofit organizations across the United States Perform time-sensitive, day-to-day accounting tasks for a wide range of nonprofit clients, including: Entering transactions and maintaining general ledgers Managing accounts payable Processing payroll Reconciling bank and credit card accounts Communicate directly with clients and collaborate with other Altruic Advisors team members to answer questions, respond to requests, and resolve accounting issues Provide audit support for clients, including communication with the client’s auditors and fulfilling requests for accounting records or other documentation Establish, document, and evaluate internal processes to increase efficiency and ensure an exceptional client experience Skills Bachelor's Degree in Accounting One year of recent accounting experience (nonprofit experience is preferred, but not required) A strong understanding of GAAP and the ability to consistently apply GAAP principles in day-to-day accounting transactions Familiarity with QuickBooks Online and BILL.com (or a willingness to learn) Effective written and oral communication skills Ability to maintain an excellent rapport with nonprofit clients Communicates openly with managers and other team members to keep everyone informed of progress, challenges, and successes Prefers working within a small, non-traditional firm environment Detail-oriented and a strong critical thinker Proactive approach to problem-solving; anticipates and resolves potential issues before they escalate Takes ownership of tasks and seeks out solutions independently A positive attitude, outstanding client service skills, and a desire to learn and grow Nonprofit experience Benefits Competitive compensation and bonus opportunities Unlimited vacation, holiday, and personal time Up to 40 hours of paid volunteer time per year Health insurance and Health Savings Account (HSA) Dental insurance Vision insurance Short-term disability insurance 401(k) with employer match Continuing professional education Professional dues reimbursement Company Overview Altruic Advisors provides cloud accounting, fraud prevention, audit, CFO, and consultation services to various nonprofit organizations.
