SSO Migration Specialist (remote)
About the position The SSO Migration Specialist will be responsible for developing a comprehensive migration strategy for transitioning from the existing Identity and Access Management (IAM) system to PingFederate and PingID. This role involves close collaboration with application owners and IT teams to integrate existing applications with the new systems. The specialist will customize PingFederate to replicate the features of the existing IAM system, including configuring authentication flows, authorization policies, and user directories. Additionally, the role includes the migration of identity data, user profiles, and access control policies to the new platform while ensuring data integrity and security. The specialist will ensure that Authentication Services comply with industry standards and best practices, such as SAML, OIDC/OAuth, and FIDO2, and will integrate the Apigee API gateway with Ping. The position also requires creating and executing test plans to validate the migration, addressing any issues that arise during testing, and documenting all configurations, customizations, and the migration process for future reference. Responsibilities • Develop a comprehensive migration strategy for transitioning from the existing IAM system to PingFederate and PingID. • Collaborate closely with application owners and IT teams to integrate existing applications with PingFederate and PingID. • Customize PingFederate to simulate the existing IAM system features, including configuring authentication flows, authorization policies, and user directories. • Migrate identity data, user profiles, and access control policies to the new platform while ensuring data integrity and security. • Ensure Authentication Services comply with industry standards and best practices, such as SAML, OIDC/OAuth, FIDO2. • Integrate Apigee API gateway with Ping. • Create and execute test plans to validate the migration, ensuring all identity services function as expected post-migration. • Address and resolve any issues that arise during testing. • Document all configurations, customizations, and the migration process to provide a comprehensive reference for future maintenance and troubleshooting. Requirements • At least 7 years of experience in Identity & Access Management, with a minimum of 3 years specifically focused on Ping Identity solutions - PingFederate and PingID. • Strong understanding of SiteMinder architecture, policies, user management, and integration mechanisms. • Knowledge of ITIL or other ITSM frameworks. • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
