Sr. Software Engineer - Back-End Serverless Developer (U.S. Remote - Occasional Office Visits Required)
Overview
Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Back-End Serverless Developer with strong experience in Serverless AWS-based application development and modern API architectures. The ideal candidate is proficient in TypeScript, GraphQL, AWS Serverless, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and DevOps.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Design, develop, and maintain GraphQL APIs using Typescript with AWS API Gateway, Lambda and DynamoDB.
ā¢ Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using AWS CDK and AWS SDK.
ā¢ Deploy releases and hotfixes to production environments.
ā¢ Debug issues in production or development environments.
ā¢ Write unit/integration tests as part of each feature/bug fix.
ā¢ Collaborate cross-functionally with front-end engineers and product stakeholders to deliver robust and maintainable systems.
ā¢ Apply AWS best practices for security, performance, monitoring, and cost optimization.
ā¢ Participate in code reviews, contribute to engineering standards, and support continuous improvement across the team.
Qualifications
ā¢ 5+ years of professional experience in back-end software development.
ā¢ Strong proficiency with TypeScript
ā¢ Knowledge of GraphQL and schema design
ā¢ Experience with AWS DynamoDB, API Gateway, Lambda, and Event Bridge
ā¢ Solid understanding of distributed systems, API design, Serverless architecture, and Database design.
ā¢ Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control workflows.
ā¢ Able to perform root cause analysis on issues within the application
ā¢ Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with cross-functional teams
Preferred Knowledge (Nice-to-Have):
ā¢ DynamoDB Single Table Design
ā¢ OpenSearch
ā¢ Amazon SageMaker for ML model deployment and integration
ā¢ AWS CodePipeline for CI/CD automation
ā¢ Test Driven Development (TDD)
ā¢ FedRAMP or other certification knowledge

Compensation:
Base Salary: $110,000 - $170,000
Final compensation will depend on factors such as geographic location, experience, and qualifications.
In-Person Interview:
Our hiring process requires one in-person meeting, typically the final interview. Travel and accommodations will be provided.
Remote Work:
Though predominantly remote, infrequent office visits will be required, typically quarterly. All travel costs for these visits will be covered by Unison.
