Sr. Mechanical Engineer / Sr. Mechanical Designer

Tons Per Hour is an equipment supplier and fabricator focused on bulk material handling, mining infrastructure, and water management systems. Our team designs and delivers practical, high-performance solutions for mining operations, processing plants, and industrial facilities.

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer or Drafter to support our mechanical design team and engineering efforts across projects including conveying systems, slurry pumping systems, structural assemblies, equipment fabrication, and piping systems.

Minimum Required Experience/Skills:
• Fluent in English
• Associates Degree in Design, Drafting, or Engineering field preferred
• At least three years of design experience with Solidworks
• Strong proficiency with 3D modeling tools
• Experience creating structural weldment and fabrication drawings
• Experience interacting with customers
• Some understanding of materials science as it relates to pumps
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Solidworks Drafting tools
• Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks and meet deadlines
• Experience working with fabrication shops and field installation teams
• Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Useful Experience (Applicants without these skills may be considered):
• Experience in mining, bulk material handling, or water/wastewater systems preferred
• Knowledge of conveyors, slurry pumps, and industrial pumping systems highly desirable
• Experience in pipeline design
• Experience with industrial equipment design. Storage and mixing tanks, support structures, pumps catwalk design, settling and dewatering equipment
• Knowledge of Solidworks add-ons, such as Routing, Rendering, and FEA Analysis
• Expirience with structural modeling and detailing shop drawings.

Job Roles (Applicant must be able to perform the following duties):
• Lead the mechanical design team on engineering projects from concept through fabrication
• Perform 3D modeling and mechanical design using SolidWorks
• Develop detailed fabrication drawings and assemblies for structural, mechanical, and piping systems
• Design and integrate conveyors, slurry pumps, water pumps, and piping systems
• Produce engineering drawings, BOMs, and fabrication packages
• Coordinate with fabrication shops, vendors, and project teams
• Support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting when required
• Work closely with electrical, controls, and project management teams to deliver integrated systems
