Position Overview

We are currently seeking a motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our specialty pharmacy team in Atlanta, GA. In this role, you will be responsible for data entry related to transplant prescriptions, processing patient referrals, and ensuring seamless communication between patients, prescribers, and our pharmacy team. This position offers guaranteed full-time hours with a convenient Monday-Friday schedule, allowing you to maintain a healthy work-life balance without weekend or holiday obligations.

Key Responsibilities

As a Specialty Pharmacy Technician – Data Entry Transplant at arenaflex, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:


Prescription Data Entry: Accurately enter prescription information into our pharmacy management system, ensuring all patient demographics, medication details, and prescribing information are captured correctly for transplant and specialty medications.
Prescription Routing: Route questionable prescriptions to the pharmacist for review and completion, identifying potential issues such as drug interactions, dosage discrepancies, or missing information that requires clarification.
Provider Communication: Make outbound calls and fax communications to physicians and prescribers to obtain prescription clarifications, request substitutions, and facilitate formulary changes in accordance with insurance requirements and patient needs.
Patient Referrals: Process patient referrals efficiently, maintaining accuracy while working in a high-production environment that requires strong multitasking abilities.
Customer Service Excellence: Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing inquiries with professionalism, empathy, and a customer-focused approach while maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
Prescription Adjudication: Communicate with prescribers regarding case status and assess prescription claim issues, working closely with insurance providers to resolve billing concerns and ensure patients receive their medications without delay.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:


Minimum of one (1) year of experience working as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail, hospital, or specialty pharmacy setting.
Active Pharmacy Technician Certification in the state of Georgia is required. Candidates must be able to provide proof of certification or eligibility to obtain certification.
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent verifiable education is mandatory.
Strong computer skills with the ability to navigate pharmacy management systems, Microsoft Office applications, and other technology platforms.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, prescribers, and team members.

Call Center Experience: Previous experience in a high-volume call center or customer service environment, preferably within the health care or pharmaceutical industry.
Prescription Adjudication: Experience with prescription adjudication processes, including communicating with prescribers regarding case status and resolving prescription claim issues.
