About the position

The Transnational Threat Specialist is a key member of the Corporate Affairs team within Corporate Security at American Airlines. This role involves leading a team of security professionals responsible for ensuring the safety and security of aviation operations, both domestically and internationally. The Specialist is tasked with implementing enhanced security program requirements in compliance with both company and government regulations, thereby safeguarding customers, employees, and corporate assets.

Responsibilities
? Supervise and lead 3rd party narcotics detection canine team operations
,
? Conduct enhanced security searches for illicit contraband on inbound and departing flights
,
? Coordinate security search logistics with airport operating departments
,
? Act as a liaison with law enforcement on criminal security matters
,
? Identify risks and suggest solutions to mitigate security threats
,
? Enforce government and airline security regulations
,
? Assist in developing and implementing narcotics detection systems
,
? Conduct patrols of American Airlines' operational footprint
,
? Coordinate with various departments including Baggage Service and Customer Care
,
? Adapt work schedule as needed based on departmental requirements
,
? Ensure office policies are correct by coordinating information from various agencies

Requirements
? Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
,
? 4+ years of experience in a related field

Nice-to-haves
? College degree or military/law enforcement service equivalent
,
? Experience in counter narcotics interdiction
,
? Experience in law enforcement or regulatory capacity with aviation focus
,
? Strong analytical skills for research and presentation of findings
,
? Experience with aviation security regulatory bodies
,
? International airport and/or airline operations experience
,
? Fluent in Spanish
