Job DescriptionAs a Special Education Teacher at The Menta Group, you will have the freedom and ability to educate a small classroom of students in a self-contained setting. Our social-emotional learning environments offer engaged and inquiry-based academics combined with a P.B.I.S. structure.Staff Hours: 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., M-F, following a school calendar Responsibilities Teach all subjects in both remote (e-learning) and in-person classroom settingsProvide a differentiated learning environmentWork collaboratively with staff, including curriculum and clinical staff to yield positive results for the studentsGain support on-campus from other teachers, administrators, curriculum staff, clinical staff, and various support staff that are Menta employeesHave the freedom and ability to personalize learningProvide a social-emotional learning environmentHave a classroom size of around 10 students with paraprofessional support in the classroom Qualifications IL PEL (Professional Educator's License; out-of-state applicants will need to apply for IL certification) with LBS1 Certification or Other Teacher Certification (Non-Substitute) with willingness to obtain LBS1Must be flexible in the ability to teach multiple grade levels as student populations changeAbility to teach a classroom of students within all basic instructional areasAbility to work with youth with emotional/behavioral/academic difficultiesAbility to be flexible, work in teams and creatively problem solveExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to speak and write clearly and persuasively Compensation & Benefits In accordance with the Pay Transparency amendment to the Illinois Equal Pay Act of 2003, information about pay ranges and employee benefits can be found at the following links:General Employee Benefits OverviewSalary InformationCertified Special Education teachers, please refer to the "Special Education Classroom Instruction" section for this position's category. Additional Information About Fox Tech Transition ProgramThe Fox Tech Transition Program is dedicated to providing a safe platform for young adults, ages 17-22. Our program helps them prepare for their next phase by providing a supportive environment for career exploration, skill development, health and wellness, behavior regulation, and independent living. Facilitators offer personalized real-world experiences to maximize each participant's independence.Students gradually transition through different placements, practicing new skills and behaviors in a safe environment. The program assesses their skills through hands-on projects and student-led businesses.
