AI Specialist – Detection & Assurance of AI-Assisted Compliance & Risk

We are seeking an experienced AI Specialist (PhD required) to conduct work focused on identifying, analyzing, and mitigating AI-assisted falsification of reports, data poisoning, and misuse of generative AI in compliance and regulatory aspects in highway construction. This role is critical to ensuring the integrity, reliability, and defensibility of AI-supported outputs used in high-stakes highway environments. The ideal candidate has deep hands-on experience with AI hallucinations, model behavior analysis, and the systematic detection of manipulated or misleading AI-generated content. Key Responsibilities include: developing methodologies for sampling, testing, and inspection of AI outputs; designing independent assurance and validation frameworks; detecting data poisoning and prompt-level manipulation; assessing model drift and hallucination risk; and supporting acceptance and rejection decision-making for AI-generated reports and disclosures. You will contribute to robust data reporting standards, audit-ready documentation, and governance controls that align with regulatory and compliance expectations. Required Qualifications: • Strong background in AI/ML, data science, or applied AI assurance (PhD preferred) • Demonstrated experience analyzing and mitigating AI hallucinations • Expertise in sampling strategies, testing protocols, inspection, and independent verification • Experience with data integrity, data poisoning detection, and misuse of generative AI • Ability to support acceptance decisions for AI-assisted outputs in regulated contexts Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in regulated industries (government, construction or compliance) • Familiarity with AI governance, risk management, and assurance frameworks • Strong written and analytical skills for audit- and regulator-facing documentation If you are passionate about ensuring AI systems are trustworthy, defensible, and used responsibly in compliance-critical environments, we encourage you to apply.
