SOR-Based Remote Online English Teachers

Purple Academy, based in Seoul, Korea, specializes in virtual learning grounded in a natural, evidence-based approach to English acquisition through the Science of Reading.
We are seeking passionate online teachers who have a strong understanding of how children learn to read and can apply Science of Reading principles effectively in real classroom practice.
Ideal candidates are educators who are comfortable teaching English through meaningful contexts and real texts, integrating subjects such as science and social studies to support comprehension and language development. We value teachers who take a student-centered approach and demonstrate strong communication skills, creativity, and initiative.
Job position:
Teach Korean students in small-group online classes, guiding a variety of reading and writing tasks through structured, text-based instruction.
Provide in-depth, constructive feedback on student writing, grammar, and language use.
Classes are held weekly, Monday through Friday between 7:00 PMā11:00 PM KST.
Teachers will teach 120-minute online classes with up to 7 students per session. (All teaching materials will be provided.)
ā¢ Teachers will submit their available hours after hiring, and class assignments will be made based on availability and performance.
ā¢ Korean Standard Time (KST) is 14 hours ahead of EST and does not observe daylight saving time.
Qualification:
ā¢ Masterās degree or higher in English education, Applied Linguistics, TESOL, or a related field, along with relevant certifications
ā¢ 4+ years of teaching experience, comfortable with online teaching environments
ā¢ Demonstrated experience applying Science of Reading principles in instruction, including phonics with decodable texts and explicit soundāspellingāmeaning connections.
ā¢ Ability to guide students through close, text-based reading using real texts, supporting comprehension through syntax awareness and evidence-based discussion rather than guessing.
ā¢ Show enthusiasm, initiative, and a proactive approach to online teaching
ā¢ Punctual and professional Communicative with headquarter in Seoul
Job Detail:
ā¢ $30~40/h + ($4.50 per paper graded)
ā¢ Job Types: Part-time, Temporary, Contract
ā¢ The more classes you get assigned, the more salary you get paid.
Additional Information:
ā¢ We require you to hold a demo lesson once you pass the first interview. Demo lesson will last for 20-30 minutes. All the materials for the lesson and zoom link will be given accordingly.
