They are seeking a Software Installation Engineer to execute software installations and upgrades, ensuring customer systems meet installation requirements while providing top-notch customer service.ResponsibilitiesExecute the installation of a technical discipline at the installation sitePerform highly visible on-site and remote software installations and upgrades of all Varian Software products, which includes troubleshooting and diagnosis as neededWork with physical and virtual environments, operating systems, databases and other software and networking technologiesReview scope of work for assigned tasks to ensure all hardware and software components are availableReview customer IT infrastructure and project plans to ensure they meet documented installation requirementsCompletes all necessary task documentation to meet Varian’s Quality processes and proceduresMaintain customer system inventories using Site Equipment Configuration documentation or equivalentKeep current on Varian products and technologies through both internal and external training and certificationTeam Up with project management, local service and hardware installation teams to provide World Class Customer ServiceRequire limited direct supervisionPerform upgrades and new installations as well as team leader duties on small to medium scale software projectsInput detailed records of installation and upgrade work performed into company information systems to ensure accurate updated customer installation information is available to other VMS functionsMaintain a high degree of professionalism and safety according to VMS guidelines and customer regulations in order to perform activities under the safest working conditionsReport by means of time sheets, expense reports, etc. regularly and in a timely fashion to ensure that accurate company statistical data on customer-oriented activities is availableComplete all required installation documentation that pertains to the job being completed and update all requested and/or required data for tracking purposes as per the applicable Varian’s Quality processes and proceduresUse prescribed problem-resolution escalation procedures and request technical assistance when necessary, in a timely mannerAttend planning calls and provide technical input as neededAdvise customers on where to find Customer Technical Bulletins, Release Notes and related product information and why these documents are importantUse prescribed problem-resolution escalation procedures and request technical assistance when necessary, in a timely mannerAdvise less experienced Installation Representatives in technical mattersWilling to travel 50% to locations in the USA and CanadaSkillsAssociates Degree or equivalent experience and 1-3 years of directly related and transferrable experienceProficient computer usage and debugging skillsKnowledge of and sound professional experience with Microsoft based server operating systemsCustomer focused attitudeArticulate and skilled in interpersonal communicationFluency in the local language and in English, both written and spokenComprehensive knowledge of networks and networking techniquesFunctional knowledge of Citrix and VMWare technologiesFamiliar with business tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint and time reporting systemsBenefitsMedical insuranceDental insuranceVision insurance401(k) retirement planLife insuranceLong-term and short-term disability insurancePaid parking/public transportationPaid time offPaid sick and safe timeCompany OverviewSiemens Healthineers is a healthcare technology company that provides diagnostic and therapeutic products and services.
