Software Engineer (Back-End)
WalletHub, the #1 Personal Finance App in the US, is rapidly growing and looking for a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer for a full-time, permanent position.
Expected work schedule is 50 hours/week, Monday to Friday. In case you will be working from outside the US, please be aware this position requires an overlap with EST business hours.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Design, develop, and maintain software applications using Java or Python
ā¢ Implement test-driven development (TDD) practices to ensure high-quality, reliable code
ā¢ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable and efficient solutions
ā¢ Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback
ā¢ Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize existing applications
ā¢ Follow best practices in software development, including clean code, version control, and CI/CD workflows
Qualifications
You are the ideal candidate for this job if you have:
ā¢ 3+ years of experience in Java and/or Python development
ā¢ Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
ā¢ Experience with unit testing frameworks and writing automated tests
ā¢ Good communication skills (clear and concise)
ā¢ Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
Nice to have but not required
ā¢ Familiarity with WS
Compensation
ā¢ Very competitive salary based on prior experience and qualifications
ā¢ Potential for stock options after the first year
ā¢ Raise and advancement opportunities based on periodic evaluations
ā¢ Visa sponsorship (after 18 months with the company, based on performance, in case you will be working from outside the US)
