Senior Video Editor
POSITION SUMMARY: The video editor is responsible for taking raw video footage and transforming it into a polished, finished product by using editing software to cut, arrange clips, add transitions, sound effects, music, graphics, retouch and visual effects, ensuring a cohesive narrative while maintaining high quality standards and adhering to project guidelines.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Ā Editing footage: Trimming, cutting, and assembling raw video clips into a logical sequence.
Ā Adding transitions and effects: Implementing visual transitions between shots and incorporating special effects to enhance the video.
Ā Video retouch: Removing blemishes, removing set rigging, background replacement, image stabilization, lighting adjustments, and correcting small imperfections.
Ā Color grading: Adjusting color profiles to create a consistent visual aesthetic.
Ā Sound design: Syncing audio tracks, adding sound effects, and adjusting volume levels.
Ā Adding text overlays and graphics: Incorporating titles, captions, and other visual elements.
Ā Exporting finished videos: Rendering and exporting videos in the required format for distribution.
Ā Collaborating with team members: Working closely with creative director, producers, and other creative personnel to understand project goals and implement feedback.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ā Minimum of 8 years of experience as a video editor with video retouch and color grading skills.
Ā A portfolio showcasing editing required.
Ā Expertise in industry-standard editing platforms like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or Avid Media Composer with Flame or similar finishing software.
Ā Understanding of video codecs, frame rates, resolutions, and audio formats.
Ā Ability to interpret creative direction and translate it into engaging visuals.
Ā Self-motivated with critical attention to detail and deadlines.
Ā Meticulous focus on ensuring seamless cuts, accurate audio synchronization, and consistent visual quality. Ā Understanding narrative structure and the ability to craft compelling sequences.
Ā Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to convey ideas and receive feedback..
Ā Ability to operate independently while establishing strong working relationships with co-workers and cross-functional teams. Ā Strong, professional and effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ā Ability to adapt well to change in direction and priority in a fast- paced and deadline-oriented environment.
Ā Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ā Hybrid schedule with predictable onsite attendance required three or more days per week to perform essential functions involving interactive behaviors with co-workers and managers, operation or manipulation of equipment and/or materials located only on site, and direct interaction with internal and/or external customers.
