This is a unique opportunity to explore the problem space from the ground up, make critical technology decisions, and lay the architectural groundwork for the systems that will become the "brain" of our IT operations.You will be instrumental in shifting IT from a traditional support model to a proactive, software-driven function. You'll work closely with our frontline IT support staff (who will be part of your integrated team) to deeply understand their challenges and build innovative solutions that automate processes, enhance reliability, and leverage cutting-edge technologies, including AI. This role is for a builder, a problem-solver, and a visionary who is passionate about using software engineering to create transformative efficiency.Key Responsibilities:Explore & Define: Dive deep into existing IT operational workflows, helpdesk processes, and infrastructure to identify inefficiencies and prime opportunities for automation and AI-driven solutions.Architect & Design: Play a lead role in designing the architecture for our new IT operational platform, making key technology choices for automation frameworks, integration strategies, data management, and potential AI tooling. Your decisions will set the foundation for the team's future.Build & Implement: Develop robust, scalable, and maintainable software solutions to automate IT processes, integrate disparate systems, and build internal tools. This includes everything from sophisticated workflow automation to intelligent bots and foundational AI models.Champion Software Engineering Best Practices: Establish and advocate for best practices in version control (Git), CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, and secure coding standards within the team from day one.Collaborate Deeply: Work hand-in-hand with integrated IT support colleagues, the Systems Administration team, and stakeholders across Welltech to understand needs, gather requirements, and ensure solutions are impactful and user-centric.AI Exploration & Implementation: Research, prototype, and implement AI solutions, with a strong interest in agentic AI systems, to create intelligent virtual agents, predictive operational insights, and automated decision-making within IT and potentially for other Welltech departments.Own Solutions End-to-End: Take responsibility for the full lifecycle of the solutions you build, from initial concept through deployment, monitoring, and ongoing iteration.Mentorship & Guidance (Future): As the team grows, provide technical guidance and mentorship to more junior engineers.Required skills:5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a proven track record of designing, building, and deploying complex software solutionsStrong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, Java, TypeScript)Solid understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and API developmentExperience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and their services (e.g., serverless functions, messaging queues, databases)Demonstrable interest and hands-on experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts and technologies, especially on agentic AIWill be a Plus:Understanding of ITSM concepts (ITIL) and platforms (e.g. Jira Service Management) is a plus.Practical experience building applications leveraging open standards like Model Context Protocol (MCP)Candidate journey⭕️ Recruiter call --> ⭕️ Live --> ⭕️ Skills assessment--> ⭕️ Meet the Leadership team✨ Why You’ll Love Being Part of Welltech:Grow Together: Join a culture that champions both personal and professional growth.
