Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Remote Full-time
Company Overview: Dune Security is the world’s first User Adaptive Risk Management solution. Powered by AI, we quantify employee risk with comprehensive data and automatically deliver user-adaptive training and intervention. For higher-risk users, our platform integrates seamlessly with the broader security stack to dynamically implement controls. Backed by Toba Capital, Ventures, Craft Ventures, MassMutual Ventures, Alumni Ventures, Firestreak Ventures, and Antler, we empower CISOs to proactively manage human risk—the leading cause of cybersecurity breaches—and build safer, more resilient organizations.

The Role: As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at Dune Security, you will play a critical role in ensuring our platform's stability, scalability, and security. You will own the reliability of our infrastructure, optimize performance, and implement robust security measures to mitigate potential threats. You will work closely with engineering, security, and operations teams to proactively address issues before they impact customers.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and maintain a scalable and reliable infrastructure to support Dune Security’s growing platform.
• Optimize and scale cloud environments (AWS) to handle increasing traffic and workloads.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in infrastructure, code, and database queries.
• Harden platform, data, and infrastructure security
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to proactively detect and respond to system issues.
• Improve existing CI/CD pipelines to enhance automated deployments and ensure high availability.
• Establish new CI/CD Best Practices – Develop and enforce CI/CD pipelines with rigorous pre-deployment checks, including static code analysis, security scanning, and performance testing, to minimize production issues
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) of incidents and implement long-term fixes to prevent future outages.
• Collaborate with security teams to strengthen authentication mechanisms and prevent bot attacks.
• Establish best practices for software reliability, incident response, and fault tolerance.
• Lead incident management efforts, including on-call rotations and post-mortem analysis.
• Implement Automated Testing Pipelines – Design and maintain automated testing frameworks (unit, integration, and end-to-end tests) to catch regressions early and ensure high code quality before deployment.

What We’re Looking For:
• 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering.
• Deep expertise in cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Experience with load balancing (ELB), auto-scaling, and distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of networking, security best practices, and bot mitigation techniques.
• Proficiency in observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, New Relic, Splunk).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, and automated testing for reliability.
• Experience in SQL and NoSQL database performance tuning and optimization.
• Familiarity with incident response, post-mortem analysis, and resilience engineering.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.

Nice to Have:
• Experience in cybersecurity or security-related SRE work.
• Experience with machine learning-based anomaly detection for security threats.
• Exposure to self-healing infrastructure and engineering.

Additional Details:
• Location: NYC. Candidates must reside within a commutable distance of our TriBeca, Manhattan office.
• Hours: Full-time.
• Compensation: Competitive salary, equity package, and benefits package.

Joining Dune Security provides an exciting opportunity to continue your career in cybersecurity sales with a cutting-edge company. If you’re passionate about learning and making an impact in the security space, we encourage you to apply.
