Senior React Native Engineer

We’re now looking for a Senior React Native Engineer to take a leading role in delivering apps that work flawlessly across iOS and Android. This is more than just a development role — it’s an opportunity to influence architecture and shape the direction of our mobile platform as we move into the App space. What you’ll be doing Reporting to the Tech Lead, you’ll bring technical leadership alongside hands-on development expertise. You’ll design scalable architecture, promote best practices, and work with product managers, designers, and backend teams to deliver seamless mobile experiences. This is a role where you’ll own critical parts of the codebase, solve complex technical challenges, and actively support the growth of less experienced engineers. Your opinion matters within your role – your peers will look to you as a key player within the team. You will be expected to help make key decisions that are in line with the technical roadmap and platform. You should be able to clearly explain those decisions to the wider team (both technical and non-technical). Experience that will put you ahead of the curve Experienced in mobile development, specifically in React Native and cross-platform development Expertise in TypeScript with advanced type patterns, generics, and type-safe development practices Knowledge of state management, including Redux Toolkit, Redux Saga, and Zustand for complex application state Cross-platform understanding of iOS and Android platform differences, native modules, and device compatibility Strong testing background using Jest, React Native Testing Library, test-driven development, and maintaining high code coverage Proven debugging skills with React Native profiling tools, Sentry crash reporting, and performance optimization techniques REST API integration expertise using Axios, authentication handling, error management, and data transformation DevOps experience with CI/CD pipelines, app store deployments, Expo development, and Firebase integration Excellent collaboration, communication, and mentorship skills for working with cross-functional teams and guiding junior developers What’s in it for you The expected range for this role is £55,000 – £67,000 This is a Remote based role … Plus more great perks, which include; Uncapped leave, because we trust you to manage your workload and time When we hit our targets, enjoy a share of our profits with a bonus Refer a friend and get rewarded when they join Future Wellbeing support with access to our Colleague Assistant Programmes Opportunity to purchase shares in Future, with our Share Incentive Plan Internal job family level Technology 5 Who are we… We’re Future, the global leader in specialist media.
