The Senior Program Coordinator - Indigenous must live in the Nunatsiavut region and supports the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Infectious Disease and Climate Change Fund (IDCCF) project: Improved well-being and resilience of Inuit communities in the context of a rapidly changing climate in northern Labrador. They provide administrative, logistical, and technical support, facilitate team coordination, manage documentation and reporting, and assist with resource allocation. The role also supports 5 Community Youth Leaders from Nunatsiavut.Project Description: Varying degrees of awareness of climate-disease linkages, insufficient recognition of Inuit knowledge, and overburdened Frontline Healthcare Providers (FHCPs) challenge understanding of climate-change impacts on infectious diseases. In response, the Canadian Red Cross and Nunatsiavut Government will implement a multi-year project in remote Inuit communities to support FHCPs and communities to identify and address challenges in managing knowledge gaps; and to develop and implement community-based, context-appropriate strategies informed by Western-science and grounded in Inuit concepts of inuuqatigiittiarniq (being respectful of people), unikkaaqatigiinniq (story-telling), pittiarniq (being kind and good), iqqaumaqatigiinniq (all things coming into one) and piliriqatigiinniq (working together for the common-good). In this role, you will : Support the planning, execution, and monitoring of programs/services, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.Assist with logistics, procurement, and administrative needs to facilitate smooth operations.Coordinate technical support requests and ensure access to necessary resources.Organize and facilitate meetings, workshops, and key activities, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up.Maintain and update project trackers, databases, and monitoring systems for real-time data tracking.Collect, analyze, and report on key program/service indicators to support decision-making and continuous improvement.Ensure proper documentation, storage, and accessibility of program/service data for compliance and future reference.Prepare internal and external reports, including monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc progress reports.Monitor compliance with program/service requirements, funding guidelines, and organizational policies.Facilitate communication and collaboration with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to ensure alignment, support program/service objectives, and enhance overall effectiveness. What we are looking for : Qualifications include a minimum of 4-5 years' experience and a 1-2 year post-secondary certification/diploma and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Lived and/or has professional experience with First Nations, Inuit and/or Métis Nations or communities.Demonstrated experience working directly with Indigenous communities, organizations, or governments in a culturally safe, respectful, and reciprocal manner.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint is required.Ability to identify, investigate and analyze problems, identify root causes and risks, and apply technical, functional and organizational knowledge to develop solutions.Communication skills, diplomacy and empathy to interpret information and deliver advice, clarify client or stakeholder needs, offer solutions, and resolve escalations in new or somewhat sensitive situations.Experience in program or service coordination, including the development and implementation of program or service plans, budgets, and evaluation activities.
