Senior Mobile Developer (React Native)

What we’re looking for:We are seeking an experienced and mission-driven Senior Mobile Developer to be part of our Phoenix's first mobile team! You’ll collaborate closely with our cofounders and cross-functional teams to create intuitive, impactful mobile experiences for patients and physicians. This role will involve translating complex healthcare workflows into user-friendly, scalable mobile solutions. We're looking for the type of mobile dev that enjoys problem-solving, thrives on collaboration, and takes pride in delivering polished, meaningful products.What you’ll do:Be the leader of the design, architecture, and building process for cross-platform mobile applications using React NativeCollaborate with the product, design, and development teams to create seamless user experiences for both patient- and physician-facing interfacesTranslate complex healthcare workflows into intuitive and user-friendly mobile experiencesTake ownership of feature development from concept to deploymentWrite clean, well-tested, maintainable code with a focus on performance and usabilityLead and determine architectural decisions and mobile strategyLead sprint planning, code reviews, and technical discussions regarding cross-platform mobile applicationsAdvocate for mobile best practices, accessibility, and performance improvementsHelp shape our development culture by mentoring peers and sharing knowledgeWhat you’ll bring:8+ years of professional software development experience3+ years of professional hands-on experience with React NativeStrong understanding of mobile design principlesExperience integrating mobile apps with backend API servicesExperience with ExpoComfortable debugging complex issues across the mobile stackFamiliarity with app deployment processes (App Store, Google Play)Strong testing and debugging skills; experience writing unit, integration, and end-to-end testsTechnical leadership, creative problem solving, and high-quality communication skillsYou’ve done it before, at scale – you have some hard-won lessons from the industry, and bring a deep understanding of navigating a technology team through the start-up scale up phase of growthYou’re passionate about improving the Canadian healthcare experience and have a personal connection to the spaceNice to HavesExperience with native iOS or Android developmentFamiliarity with Ruby on Rails or similar backend technologiesExposure to cloud-based infrastructure (ideally AWS)Experience with Tailwind CSSWhy work at Phoenix?Impact & autonomy.
