Senior Logistics Coordinator - Driving & Transport

Our client is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Logistics Coordinator to join their dynamic team supporting Driving & Transport operations in San Diego, California, US . This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient and timely movement of goods and materials across various locations. You will be responsible for coordinating shipping and receiving activities, managing carrier relationships, optimizing transportation routes, and resolving any logistical challenges that arise. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of supply chain principles, transportation regulations, and logistics software. Key responsibilities include tracking shipments, preparing shipping documents, scheduling deliveries and pickups, communicating with drivers and clients, and maintaining accurate records of all logistical operations. You will also play a key role in identifying opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions within the logistics network. This position requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and manage all aspects of inbound and outbound transportation. Schedule and confirm pickup and delivery times with carriers and clients. Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading and customs forms. Track shipments in real-time and provide updates to stakeholders. Manage carrier relationships, including performance monitoring and issue resolution. Optimize transportation routes and modes to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Troubleshoot and resolve delivery delays or other logistical problems. Maintain accurate and up-to-date logistics records and databases. Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse staff, and external partners. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance logistics operations. Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company policies. Qualifications: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in logistics coordination or a similar role. Strong understanding of shipping procedures, transportation modes, and carrier management. Proficiency in logistics software and TMS (Transportation Management Systems). Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Familiarity with import/export documentation is a plus.
