Senior Financial Controller, SaaS

Our client, a rapidly growing Software as a Service (SaaS) company, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Financial Controller to oversee their financial operations. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from home anywhere in the US. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. Key duties include month-end and year-end close processes, financial statement preparation, general ledger management, and accounts payable/receivable oversight. You will also be instrumental in developing and implementing internal controls, ensuring adherence to GAAP, and supporting financial audits. The Senior Financial Controller will play a key role in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Experience with SaaS metrics and subscription-based revenue recognition (ASC 606) is critical. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, and legal, to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making. This role requires a strong understanding of financial systems and ERP software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks Enterprise). The ability to identify process improvements and implement new accounting policies and procedures is essential. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation strongly preferred. Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a senior accounting or controller role. Proven experience with SaaS business models and ASC 606 revenue recognition. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP) and accounting software. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong leadership and team management capabilities, particularly in a remote environment. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in public accounting (Big 4) is a plus. As a fully remote position, candidates must be self-motivated, possess excellent time management skills, and have a dedicated workspace with reliable internet connectivity to ensure seamless collaboration with the team.
