Senior Event Planner & Logistics Manager

Our client, a premier event management company known for creating unforgettable experiences, is seeking a highly creative and meticulously organized Senior Event Planner & Logistics Manager to join their team in Los Angeles, California . You will be responsible for the end-to-end planning, execution, and management of a diverse range of events, from corporate conferences and product launches to luxury weddings and festivals.
As a Senior Event Planner, you will conceptualize event themes, manage budgets, select venues, and coordinate with vendors, including caterers, decorators, entertainers, and audiovisual technicians. Your role extends to developing detailed event timelines, overseeing on-site logistics, ensuring seamless execution, and managing post-event analysis and reporting. The hybrid model allows for focused planning from your remote workspace and active engagement at our Los Angeles office and event venues. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in event planning, a strong understanding of logistics, impeccable negotiation skills, and a creative flair for design and theme development. You must be adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously, thrive under pressure, and possess exceptional communication and client-facing skills. Responsibilities include client consultations, site inspections, contract negotiations, risk management, and on-site supervision to guarantee flawless event delivery. You will also lead and mentor junior event staff, contributing to the overall growth and success of the team. Responsibilities: Manage all aspects of event planning and execution, from conception to post-event evaluation. Develop creative event concepts, themes, and production designs. Create and manage detailed event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and profitability. Source, negotiate with, and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers (venues, catering, AV, entertainment, etc.). Develop comprehensive event schedules, run sheets, and floor plans. Oversee on-site event production, logistics, and staffing. Conduct site inspections and venue evaluations. Manage client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and addressing needs proactively. Develop and implement risk management plans for events. Supervise and mentor junior event staff. Conduct post-event debriefs and financial reconciliations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. 7+ years of experience in event planning and management, with a portfolio showcasing diverse event types. Proven experience in logistics management and vendor coordination. Strong budgeting, negotiation, and project management skills. Excellent creativity, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities. Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and client service skills. Proficiency in event management software and MS Office Suite. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and travel as needed. Experience working in a hybrid model based in the Los Angeles area.
