Job Summary As a Senior Director, Corporate Development, you'll play a critical role in executing our company's strategy to be a leading consolidator in drug delivery technologies. You'll work independently and in collaboration with internal groups to provide detailed economic analyses of new opportunities, develop deal concepts, and negotiate term sheets and definitive agreements. You'll also establish and maintain an extensive network of strong and trusting relationships with prospective collaborators, advisors, and industry investors. Key Responsibilities Develop and drive M&A corporate strategy, working closely with the Chief Business Officer and other senior executives Conduct detailed economic analyses of new opportunities, including market research, business intelligence, competitive analysis, development plans, commercial forecasts, and NPV analyses Present business rationale, analyses, and proposals to senior executives and other stakeholders Coordinate the evaluation and diligence of new opportunities across multiple functional areas, including Research, Clinical, Regulatory, Commercial, Manufacturing, Finance, Legal, and Intellectual Property Develop deal concepts and negotiate term sheets and definitive agreements in collaboration with corporate legal and finance groups Establish and maintain an extensive network of strong and trusting relationships with prospective collaborators, advisors, and industry investors Participate in and potentially lead the deal process from first contact with potential partners to execution of agreements Requirements To succeed in this role, you'll need: A minimum of an advanced degree in Life Sciences or an MBA with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry An extensive track record in identifying and evaluating deals and driving transactions In-depth understanding of the drug discovery and development process Ability to understand and evaluate the applicability and quantify the opportunity presented by specific drug delivery technologies under evaluation Advanced skills and experience structuring and transacting large acquisitions and complex licensing agreements A track record of leadership roles in multiple successful transactions Deep skills in conducting valuation analyses Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and work successfully with varied audiences and executives Preferred Qualifications We prefer candidates with: A strong network of relationships with prospective collaborators, advisors, and industry investors Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders A proven ability to drive business growth through strategic transactions What We Offer At Halozyme, we offer a comprehensive benefits program, including: A competitive salary with a range of $240K - $360K per year, depending on experience and qualifications A full and comprehensive benefits program, including an Employee Stock Purchase Program and 401(k) matching Opportunities to grow in a culture that prioritizes learning, development, and progression through in-house programs and tuition reimbursement A collaborative, innovative team that works as one to amplify your impactβ€”on your career, the work you do, and patients' lives Our Culture At Halozyme, we're committed to creating a diverse and inclusive work environment that reflects our values and the world we live in.
