Our growing team of 250+ people across the USA and Canada, including entertainment and technology experts from SAG-AFTRA, DGA, IATSE, Teamsters, Amazon, Microsoft, Facebook, and more. Wrapbook is backed by top-tier investors, including Jeffrey Katzenberg’s WndrCo, Andreessen Horowitz, and A* Capital. We have raised $130M and are in a strong financial position. The Opportunity – Senior Director, Controller (Remote - USA / Canada) Wrapbook is building the financial infrastructure of the project economy — and we're looking for a seasoned Controller to lead the accounting function through its next chapter. Reporting to the CFO, you will own and evolve the financial system of record for a complex, multi-product fintech platform spanning payroll, payments, and production accounting.. If you’re looking to maintain existing processes, this isn’t the role. If you want to rebuild and scale a modern accounting function, it is. We're in the middle of an AI-driven transformation of our accounting function, and we need a leader who is genuinely excited about what that means — someone who thinks in systems, partners with engineers to build custom financial tooling, and drives efficiency through technology as a first instinct, not an afterthought. You bring the technical accounting depth to keep us GAAP-compliant and audit-ready, the leadership to develop a high-performing team, and the product mindset to help us build finance infrastructure that scales. What You'll Do Own the integrity and consistency of financial data across accounting, billing, payroll, procurement, and analytics systems — ensuring financial data is accurate, usable, and trusted as the company’s source of truth Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close — driving a fast, predictable cadence while continuously improving quality and reducing manual effort Own the design and evolution of our financial systems architecture (GL, subledgers, workflows), partnering closely with Product and Engineering to build scalable, custom solutions Drive automation across accounting workflows — including close, reconciliations, and reporting — leveraging AI and modern tooling to reduce manual work and improve data reliability Lead audit readiness and maintain a strong internal controls environment, ensuring the company is consistently audit-ready as it scales Own technical accounting and policy development, ensuring GAAP compliance and consistency across the organization Deliver clear, decision-useful financial reporting and insights to leadership, enabling better and faster business decisions Act as a cross-functional leader, driving financial discipline across Product, Operations, and Go-to-Market teams Build and lead a high-performing, accountable accounting organization (~10 people), including hiring, developing, and structuring the team for scale Oversee tax compliance across federal, state, and local jurisdictions in the US and Canada What You'll Have Strong foundation (10+ years) in accounting and financial operations (CPA required), with experience in high-growth SaaS, fintech, or similarly complex environments High ownership and impact orientation - you see finance as a core business enabler, not a support function Proven track record of building and scaling accounting functions with an operator mindset - you default to systems, automation, and leverage over manual processes Deep technical accounting expertise (including revenue recognition), with experience leading audit readiness activities and establishing controls in a fast-moving environment Experience designing and implementing scalable financial systems and workflows, ideally in partnership with Product and Engineering teams Hands-on experience using AI and automation tools (e.g., LLMs, workflow automation platforms, AI-forward ERPs) to improve accounting workflows - with a demonstrated ability to experiment, iterate, and drive real efficiency gains Track record of building high-performing, accountable teams with clear ownership and measurable outputs Clear, direct communicator who can translate complex financial concepts into insights for cross-functional partners and leadership Growth mindset and builder mentality — you’re energized by ambiguity, continuously look for better ways of operating, and actively raise the bar as the company scales Why Join Us At Wrapbook, creativity meets technology — and not just in the product. In addition to a competitive salary and all the benefits you can expect from a fast-growing technology company, you’ll get access to a team of creative problem solvers and the chance to see your contributions make large impacts. Benefits include: Unlimited Paid Time Off Work from anywhere in Canada and USA Health and Dental benefits Up to $1,500 USD/ $2,025 CAD towards IT set up for your home Up to 2% matching RRSP / 401K Learning and Development opportunities Up to $50 USD/ $67.50 CAD towards Internet/Cell phone service Our Pledge to Fostering an Inclusive and Safe Workplace: Wrapbook pledges to be a harassment- and discrimination-free space for everyone, regardless of age, disability, ethnicity, gender identity or expression, nationality, neurotype, personal appearance, political affiliation, professional background, race, religion, or sexual identity or orientation.
