The role is based at our Tastepoint Philadelphia. This is a position required to be on-site in the lab environment full-time, with any working time off-site at manager's discretion and approval. Where You’ll Make a Difference Lead complex technical projects from experimental design through execution and completion Develop and conduct experiments independently or in collaboration with cross-functional partners Create value-added technical solutions for the culinary, snacks and pet food industry using the IFF portfolio Apply expertise in culinary, snacks and pet food processes such as extrusion, thermal processing, meat rendering, and baking Provide technical guidance on complex challenges and support moderate-scope project planning Deliver technical support to customers, sales, and internal teams through plant trials, troubleshooting, and training Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), and related regulatory requirements Support development of technical reports, application literature, invention disclosures, and patents What Makes You the Right Fit Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science, Chemical Science, Food Science, or a related field Typically 10 years of experience in the food industry, including at least 5 years within culinary, snacks and/or pet food applications or a closely related specialty Experience working in cross-functional, interdepartmental project teams Strong technical knowledge of food processing systems and ingredient applications Ability to manage work independently across broadly defined technical assignments Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills Willingness to work in laboratory and pilot plant environments and travel up to 30% How Would You Stand Out? Master’s degree or PhD in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline Hands-on experience supporting customer trials or commercial scale-up activities Familiarity with regulatory, quality, and food safety requirements impacting pet food Why Choose Us?
