About the Role We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our IT Analytics team. As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our data engineering solutions. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy analytics solutions that drive business insights and inform strategic decisions. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain large-scale data engineering solutions using cloud-based technologies, including Microsoft Azure Collaborate with source data application teams and product owners to configure, implement, and support analytics solutions that provide actionable insights Develop and maintain data pipelines using cloud-based technologies, including Azure EventHub, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Databricks Perform various aspects of the development lifecycle, including design, cloud engineering, ingestion, deployment, data modeling, testing, and performance tuning Provide technical leadership and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes Develop and maintain coding standards, best practices, and security guidelines Coach and mentor team members on technical and domain skills Requirements Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related technical discipline 3+ years of experience in programming solution development using agile methodologies and DevOps practices 3+ years of experience in data analysis using SQL 2+ years of experience in cloud development and data lake experience, preferably using Microsoft Azure Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or C++ Experience with data engineering tools, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure EventHub Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of experience in programming solution development using agile methodologies and DevOps practices 5+ years of experience in data analysis using SQL 3+ years of experience in full-stack development, preferably using cloud-based technologies Experience with Azure Cloud technologies, including Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Databricks Certifications in Azure, such as Azure Data Engineer or Azure Solutions Architect What We Offer Competitive Compensation and Benefits We offer a highly competitive salary range of $70-$80 per hour, as well as a comprehensive benefits package that includes: Travel benefits: Fly to over 365 destinations on more than 6,800 daily flights across our global network Medical benefits: Access to health, dental, prescription, and vision benefits Wellness programs: Tools, resources, and support to help you maintain a healthy work-life balance 401(k) program: Available upon hire, with employer contributions available after one year Additional benefits: Employee assistance program, pet insurance, and discounts on hotels, cars, and travel Career Growth and Development At American Airlines, we're committed to helping our team members grow and develop their skills.
