Senior Copywriter
In an age of AI and chatbots writing everything from emails to love letters, the Lee Tilford Agency is looking for a talented (and undeniably human) Senior Copywriter with 5+ years of experience to join our team!
If you can outwrite an algorithm from our robot overlords, brainstorm ideas that don’t sound like they were only generated by a robot having an existential crisis, and craft copy that actually connects with people, we want to hear from you!
The ideal candidate is strategically minded, highly collaborative, and a storytelling maestro—capable of turning even the driest content into engaging memorable content. You understand the power of words, love a clever turn of phrase, and can elevate client projects across multiple platforms. Plus, you’ll be working alongside Account Executives, Art Directors, and Video Editors/Producers, so being a team player (and having a sense of humor) is a must.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Brainstorms and crafts compelling creative copy that resonates with our clients and their audiences.
• Creates various long and short-form products, including TV commercial and radio scripts, print advertising, email campaigns, and other digital content such as blog posts, social media copy, and general ad copy & headlines.
• Conduct thorough research to ensure accuracy and relevance in all written materials.
• Stay updated on industry & current culture trends in digital marketing, social media marketing, and print advertising to inform content creation.
• Edit and proofread copy to maintain high quality, clarity, and consistency standards.
• Collaborate with other teams to develop excellent creative work from ideation to production.
• Utilize content management systems to manage and publish content efficiently.
• Have a strong work ethic, ability to work independently, meeting deadlines, and attention to detail.
EXPERIENCE:
• 5 years of experience in writing for advertising agencies or marketing with a specialization in retail. Food and beverage writing experience is a plus.
• Experience with online content (blog writing, SEO content writing & best practices, email blasts, ad copy, social media, etc.)
• Familiarity with social media marketing strategies to create an impactful online presence.
• Has excellent grammar and spelling skills and doesn’t just rely on AI to write
• A portfolio is required to demonstrate creative skills.

This role is primarily remote, but candidates must reside in the Greater Austin area and be available 1-2 days a week to meet with the creative team in person at our video studio or for creative lunch meetings. Employees should also maintain availability and responsiveness during standard work hours (8:30 AM—5:30 PM CST, Monday through Friday) via text, calls, chat, and virtual meetings.
