This position is remote and can be located in either the UK, US or Ireland.The Role:The Business Information Department supports the ICON Commercial team by coordinating Requests for Information (RFIs) and developing strategic content, metrics and experience summaries to support all business units and service areas globally across ICON, ensuring that the information provided is consistent with ICON’s core message and brand.As a Senior RFI Specialist you will benefit from exposure throughout ICONs Commercial and Operations infrastructure, working with individuals in Project Management, Finance, Marketing, Proposals, Business Development as well as the ICON Executive teams. You will be an expert in analyzing external RFIs, ranging from simple questionnaires to global partnership opportunities, with a fine tuned ability to determine client needs and establish criteria and guidelines for developing high-quality, sales-focused informational documents that distinguish ICON from its competitors.Job Functions/Responsibilities:Support Business Development in the winning of new business for ICON.Manage the preparation, review and submission of RFIs for new business and partnership opportunities within given timeframe.Provide oversight and input on strategic and preferred provider opportunities, as needed.Lead kick-off, and strategy meetings as appropriate ensuring that the appropriate personnel from Senior Management, Operations and Sales are involved as required throughout the RFI generation process.Liaise with the appropriate personnel including sales, RFIs and operations throughout the RFI generation to ensure that the RFI and strategy meets the business needs in line with triage priority.Solicit input and review of RFIs, from the relevant operational departments including Manager, RFIs and Account Manager.Ensure quality, accuracy and consistency of ICON information used for business development and marketing purposes. Develop and maintain filing and tracking tools in accordance with accepted practices.Consistently meet RFI submission timelines and adhere to Business Development SOPs and Working Procedures.Ensure Senior Management are apprised of the status of RFI preparation and elevate any issues or concerns.Train and mentor junior RFI Specialists, and perform peer QC to ensure the highest level of quality and accuracy in all deliverables.Contribute to development of processes and tools along with other improvement initiatives to improve the efficiency of the Business Information departmentAssist with maintenance of content library to ensure current and accurate material is available at all timesProvide back-up to Business Information leadership as required.Recognize, exemplify, and adhere to ICON's values which centre around our commitment to People, Clients, and Performance.What you will need:Extensive knowledge of CRO, Pharmaceutical or related industry; 6+ years of overall corporate experienceBachelor's degree or equivalent (Life Sciences preferred but not essential)Prior experience successfully performing the role of an RFI Specialist or Proposal Developer (a minimum of 3 years' experience)Self-starter and an ability to function in a high-paced, dynamic environmentAbility to work independently, be highly motivated and a strong team playerAbility to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detailAbility to evaluate RFIs and identify critical issues and questionsExcellent numeracy, communication and organizational skillsExcellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft WordFluency in English and excellent written English skills are essentialWhat ICON can offer you:Our success depends on the quality of our people.
